Saline Breast Implants
Saline breast implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes. One of the primary benefits to saline breast implants is that they are filled after being placed which allows for a smaller incision. This leads to a less complex surgery and increased recovery time. Saline implants are lighter than silicone implants but do not look and feel as natural. In addition, saline implants are often easier to detect and more prone to ripple and wrinkle over time. Their main advantage though, is that they don’t come with the (now disproven) stigma of silicone.
Silicone Breast Implants
Silicone breast implants look and feel more like your natural breasts than saline implants. Silicone breast implants also come in a wide variety of shapes and can be used to provide a more natural, less obviously enhanced final appearance. Silicone implants are pre-filled, requiring a larger incision which can increase visible scarring and recovery time. However, silicone implants are less likely to ripple and wrinkle, increasing the length of your final results.
